Wayfarers
Sports Club once again extends a warm welcome to all our
visiting teams in 2008.
PARKING
1.
Please co-operate with the parking marshals who will try to
ensure best
use of the available area. For preference
please park in the long-stay car park in the field near the
beginning of the track.
2. Please keep all the gates to the
field clear for emergency access.
3. Please respect the no parking
areas around the clubhouse.
4. Please remember that the track is a
public bridleway, and that parking
is not
allowed, even in the ditches!
5. Please do not drive on the
pitches.
RUBBISH Bin liners are distributed to all teams on
both days. Please use them to deposit all your rubbish in the 4
skips on site (additional black bags are available from the
kitchen).
FOOD 1. Breakfasts are served in the Clubhouse
from 8am on Saturday and
Sunday –
order early especially if you are playing in the first matches!
2.
3.
Please do not use disposable BBQs
unless they are raised off the ground so that the grass does not
get scorched. We have an obligation to our cricketers to keep
the outfield in good condition!
DISCO In the marquee until 2am on Friday and
Saturday evenings.
BAR Open from 10am till 1am.
WILDLIFE The tournament weekend is not really suitable
for dogs. If you have to bring your pet with you, it must be
kept under the owner’s full control at all times.
Please also be aware that adders have
been seen on the ground this year!
SHOP For all your
hockey requirements, Peter Curtis will have his usual wide
selection of kit, sticks and other hockey equipment for sale
throughout the weekend.
LONGEST AERIAL COMPETITION after
play on Saturday – prizes sponsored by TK Hockey
As regards
the hockey….(just as an afterthought!!)
Please
register with ‘Mike the Mike’ (at the front of the clubhouse)
from 9:30am on Saturday
-----------------------------
You all have
5 games each day to play, and 5 games to umpire. It is important
for the smooth running of the tournament that teams DO umpire
the games they are asked to, and that the completed umpiring
cards are returned to Mike straight after each game
-----------------------------
Hockey on
Sunday morning will start at 10:00am. Draw sheets will be
available from 9:15am
-----------------------------
We welcome
your suggestions and comments to improve the quality and your
enjoyment of our tournaments. See you all again in 2008
(provisional date 12/13th July
